Modicus Remix
Modicus Remix is a stylish, minimalist, two-column Wordpress theme that uses classic colours and a weblog-style layout.
It has relatively wide columns, simple navigation links in the top-right corner of the page and a wide, narrow header image that would be simple to replace.

This template is really well done but dont waste your time downloading it. It’s full of bugs and the owner is not interested in fixing it.

I’ve really enjoyed using this theme. Yes, it’s been a little buggy and a lot had to be done to get it up to scratch to work with later versions of Wordpress. I’ve subbed out a lot of code to make it work with Wordpress 2.7. Modicus Remix is a plugin relient theme and some of the plugins stopped working after a mid 2.6 upgrade. Since then, though it’s been stable and spiffy through 2.7.
A few people have been having trouble with the sidebar in particular. I’ve since uploaded my version of the theme at my site, which does work. You can get it, and the plugins I use here: http://drop.io/drew3000/asset/d3
