The Market theme allows you to easily run your own Wordpress-powered marketplace (i.e. online store). It’s easy to set up and run, and comes with numerous configuration options.
The theme uses the custom fields system built into Wordpress to do much of the work for you – from setting a price to including that price, the name of the product, and other info and sending it all to Paypal for you.
The theme automatically generates Paypal “buy now” buttons and adds them to each post. It uses thumbnails and Fancyzoom to display product images in a nice, organised manner, with full versions of each product image easily available with a simple click.
Alternatively, the theme can be used as a way to showcase a portfolio of design work.

TV.Elements is an excellent, dark, video-centric theme specifically designed to cater for higher-resolution video of any size up to 640 pixels wide.
Video is front and centre in this theme, which highlights the latest clip in the middle of the page and uses a carousel navigation to the right of the main clip to showcase more videos.
The user can select a category from the dropdown menu to browse all video in that category, and simply select any video in the list to watch the video, read its associated content, or comment.
Posting videos is as simple as copying the embed code from the source site and pasting it into a field. The theme works elegantly with Blip.TV, Flickr, MetaCafe, MySpace, Veoh, Viddler, Vimeo and YouTube — and should work with pretty much any embeddable video, including your own hosted Flash files.
The TV.Elements theme has 5 sidebars, all of which can be configured separately through the standard WordPress widget interface.
When a user clicks through to view a video, it opens in a custom player that fades the rest of the screen to black.

Prologue allows a group of people to use Wordpress to create a Twitter-like stream of what they’re doing.
It’s put out by Automattic, the people behind Wordpress. They explain it like this:
“We’re fans of Twitter around here, in fact many Automatticians have accounts, but while the format appealed to us it really just whetted our appetite for something more, like a way for each of us to share short messages about what we’re doing or working on internally, or private messages between groups of folks. So last week (we) decided to tackle this problem and within a few days (we) had a new theme…
“Basically how it works is when someone has the ability to post to a blog they see a short form at the top of the home page with a post box and tags. There they can post short messages about what they’re doing.
“Below the posting box is a list of everyone’s latest tweet or message, with their Gravatar next to it. You can click on an author to see all their messages, or a tag to see all of the messages in a given tag (which we use for projects). There are RSS feeds for everything: the entire prologue, each author, each tag, and even combination or searches can be subscribed to in your RSS reader.”

WP Contact Manager is a different kind of theme, which turns your Wordpress installation into a contact manager.
You can add contacts through the regular admin interface, tag contacts, search them and more. It’s a very attractive and simple solution for people who want to have a contact database easily accessible from anywhere with a web connection.
The theme takes a little bit of setting up, but it’s all documented nicely on the theme’s homepage.

Braintied is a one-column Wordpress theme with no sidebar, no widgets, no archives and no categories displayed by default. Talk about minimalism.
And yet it’s a beautiful theme that could easily fill a number of specific uses. It simply lists latest posts and the date on which they were posted.
